Dear VBYC Members,

Given our recent membership growth and to help keep our club organized and ensure a safe, clutter-free environment, we are introducing a new system to track all personal gear stored at the club. 

If you have any items stored on the Yacht Club Beach, in the compound,on the beach, the communal storage locker (on the deck), around the clubhouse, under the clubhouse deck, or above the lockers in the rafters, you must complete the VBYC Gear Tracking Form and label each item with a club-issued sticker.

Please note, we DO NOT ALLOW items to be stored by the Electrical Box in the corner as stated in our Policies. Any items placed in this location will be removed. Items placed in front of other members' lockers will also be removed.

If you have items that are stored in the rafters above the lockers, please keep in mind that members store sails/booms in their lockers, and your items may be moved if they interfere with sail/boom storage.

Please note: 
Beach toys cannot be stored in the compound or club spaces (e.g., Beach mats/Inflatable water toys/Fishing gear/Chairs, and any other beach toys).
We kindly ask that you keep these items at your cabin or in your personal locker. 

What You Need to Do:
Complete the Gear Tracking Form – List all items not stored in your personal locker.

Apply the club-issued sticker to each item listed (stickers are available from Rick Demetrioff – contact him at vbycgear@gmail.com).

Deadline:
You have until the end of the September Long Weekend 2025 to complete this process. If you cannot comply with this deadline you must email vbycgear@gmail.com and let us know the circumstances.

Important:
Please make sure your VBYC Club fees are paid at the start of each year. If not, we have the right to sell or dispose of your items. 

Please note: If your sailboat or item is rotting beyond repair please remove it from the VBYC space as this is a hazard for the public and club members. VBYC has the right to dispose of any such items.

Any items not listed and labeled by the deadline will be considered abandoned and may be sold or disposed of by VBYC without further notice.

This policy will be enforced moving forward as part of the club’s commitment to maintaining an organized VBYC. If you acquire any new items, please fill out the form and request additional stickers for those items.

Once a sticker is applied to an item, please do not move or remove it, as it is tied to that item.

Communication:
We will be sending this email, posting notices at the clubhouse, and publishing this information in the Herald, on the website, and on Facebook to ensure all members are informed.

Where to Place the Sticker:

• Sailboats: On the back or back crossbar or mast (must be visible).
• Sailboat Booms & Masts (not attached to your sailboat, e.g., Laser): In a visible spot on ALL parts if they come apart
• Kayaks: On the back, ensuring visibility when stored
• Canoes: On the back, ensuring visibility when stored
• Sailboat Wheels/Rollers: In a visible location
• Trailers: In a visible spot
• Kiteboards: On the back (must be visible)
• Kite Sails: Inside the bag (or in the pocket window)
• Foiling Battery and Charger: On the charger
• Windsurfing Boards: In a visible spot
• Windsurfing Booms: In a visible spot
• Windsurfing Sails: Outside the sailbag
• Paddleboards: In a visible spot (but the sticker needs to stick to something)
• Paddles: In a visible spot
• Tires for winter (please get as many stickers as per Tires)

If you lose your sticker please reach out to vbycgear@gmail.com ASAP to get another one.
